If LinkedIn and TOMS [shoes] had a baby, they’d name it Complete the Pair. CTP is the only company in the world that allows salespeople to make meaningful connections with their prospects while changing lives across the world. Each time a connection takes place through our patented system, we provide a free pair of shoes to a person in need.
There are 24 million salespeople in the top 500 U.S. companies, according to Selling Power and the market for Cause Marketing topped $1.8 billion in 2012. These salespeople struggle every day to find creative ways to reach their prospects in order to achieve their revenue goals.
Our revolutionary concept is a simple, yet powerful way to deliver your personalized sales and marketing content along with a humanitarian cause you can achieve together with your prospect.
Complete the Pair succeeds in creating new connections by bringing together the impact of cause marketing, dimensional mailers, and an interactive software experience that gives our customers 100% measurable results.
Here’s how it works: Customers purchase pair credits at a cost of $34.95 plus $4.99 S&H. When the customer is ready to target a prospect, one shoe is sent to the prospect and the matching shoe to the customer. The shoes arrive in clear shrink wrap, not in a box, to maximize the wow factor and to prevent them getting lost in the prospect’s inbox.
When the intended recipient gets the shoe, he or she enters the shoe's unique code on the Complete the Pair website to view the sender’s profile, any attached documents or embedded videos, and personalized request to connect. Both parties bring their shoes to the meeting, reuniting the pair. Then they simply place the pair in the prepaid mailer (included inside the shoes) and drop them in the mail. Upon arrival back at the warehouse, the shoes are donated to Soles4Souls.
1. How do you define success?
We want to make a difference in people’s lives. Doing well (getting our message out and generating revenue) allows us to do good. It is in our DNA and cannot be disconnected from who we are and what we want to be.
2. What has been your proudest moment as a founder?
I love it when we allow people to make lasting connections through our concept. People “get it” and realize how life changing our approach is.
3. What has been the toughest decision you've made during your time as a founder?
We have changed and pivoted along the way. Realizing that your original direction was not the best one is never easy, but necessary, in order to adapt to the requirements of our clients.
4. What have you learned about yourself during this startup process?
A startup is a living breathing entity and is forever evolving. Learning to harness and listening to that has been transformative. I do not have all the answers. Our clients do.
5. What advice would you give to another budding startup company?
Stop coming up with ideas and start implementing! And SHARE with everyone. People want to help you, not steal from you, and achieve your dreams.
6. What are your next milestones as a company? What kind of support and resources do you need to achieve these milestones?
We are looking to accelerate our sales as we pivot into our new path. We are also now in our second round of financing so…..feel free to reach out if you are interested.
